METHODOLOGIES AND ATMOSPHEREWe utilize current teaching methodologies, focusing from the beginning on practical Spanish. Instead of struggling through never-ending lists of verb conjugations, you will work in class with a variety of authentic materials and real-life situations. Likewise, your homework will not insist on rote memorization or old-fashioned fill-in-the-blank exercises; instead, you might read an article from a newspaper, prepare a presentation, write a letter, or watch a movie. In other words, while attention will be paid to grammar, learning about Spanish will not take precedence over acquiring the ability to use Spanish. In addition, we believe that a foreign language should be introduced in a comfortable, relaxed environment, and that sense of humor, intuition, and risk-taking are valuable tools in the learning process.
