<p>Meet the women who have shaped Latin America. Research and discuss the struggles and victories of rural women as well as those of their urban sisters. From Eva Perón to Shakira, these charismatic figures have not only influenced cultural and political traits in their own countries but also contributed to spread Latino culture abroad. </p>
<p>Led by a Latin American instructor, sessions are organized around discussion of assigned readings, multimedia homework and research.</p>
<p>As usual at Castalia, the course is taught in small groups of up to eight students to encourage active participation.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Deepen your understanding of the Spanish-speaking world through short stories by some of the best writers from Latin America and Spain. Aimed at students with good oral proficiency who enjoy reading, this engaging course is designed to promote discussion of cultural issues as well as improve comprehension and enrich vocabulary. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Every week students will read at home a short story and research topics related to it; sessions will consist of conversations guided by a Latin American instructor with occasional brief individual presentations.</span></p>
